Football reports built from match records, with a defined scope and traceable results.
The series covers men's domestic top divisions registered in FootSam, selected continental and global club competitions, and men's senior international competitions, including friendlies. Club football and national-team football have separate totals and comparisons.
Continental club coverage includes the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League; Libertadores and Sudamericana; the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup; CONCACAF Champions Cup and Leagues Cup; AFC Champions League Elite and Two; OFC Champions League; the FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup, where matches are available in FootSam. Lower divisions and domestic club cups are excluded, even when top-division clubs take part.
Reports describe available FootSam records. They do not claim complete coverage of every football match played worldwide.
Regular weekly reports cover Monday through Sunday. Monthly reports cover the complete calendar month. Kickoffs are grouped in Europe/Stockholm time, including daylight-saving changes. The four September 2026 launch reports cover 1–7, 8–14, 15–21 and 22–28 September; the monthly report also includes 29–30 September.
Weekly publication is scheduled for Mondays at 12:15; monthly publication for the first day of the following month at 12:15, in Stockholm time. Publication waits at least twelve hours after a period closes. The server checks at fifteen minutes past every hour and catches up missed periods. A report needs at least twenty completed matches; publication is deferred if more than two per cent of registered fixtures still lack a final result. Deferred reports are checked again on the next run.
Completed results are used for match totals, goals, wins, winning margins and team clean sheets. All covered matches count equally; the series does not rate one league's strength against another. Equal totals are treated as shared leads. Extra-time goals are included, while shootout goals are excluded. A match tied before a shootout remains a draw in result-based win counts.
Individual performances require goal events that reconcile with the final score and a compatible player identifier and name. Own goals count towards team results but not a player's scoring total. A leading scorer for a whole period is shown only when all covered scoring records have complete player attribution.
Comebacks are calculated by replaying the verified goal sequence: the largest deficit, the goal that established the final winning lead and consecutive goals at the end of the match. Incomplete timelines are excluded. A winning-run story needs at least four consecutive wins within the report's period and scope; an unknown intervening result interrupts the run. This establishes no historical or all-competition streak. Monthly league scoring averages require at least ten completed matches per league.
The question register first creates factual candidates, including match references, comparisons and data coverage. A deterministic selection step then prioritises distinctive results, verified comebacks and individual goal performances. Its scores are editorial priorities, not football ratings. No section is added to fill a quota.
Weekly reports allow up to four club stories and three international stories; monthly reports up to six and four. Each group allows at most one routine leaderboard. Repeated facts are merged into the stronger story where possible. Large groups of tied win or clean-sheet leaders are omitted rather than turned into long lists. Ties in a selected comparison are still stated explicitly.
Written templates vary with the facts: a shared lead, a perfect record of completed wins, a player supplying all of a team's goals, or a deeper comeback. Historical records and unexpected-result claims require verified comparison evidence; the current engine does not infer them from one score.
The figures and published text are built with database queries, TypeScript and versioned templates. No generative AI service writes the articles. Inline badges and portraits use existing FootSam profile images; missing images leave a usable text link.
Each article retains its period, calculation time, engine and template versions, evidence fingerprint, every question's outcome, candidate facts and the selection decisions. It can be reproduced from that retained evidence. Editorial upgrades can rebuild the text without changing its evidence or numeric coverage. A later source correction can be recalculated through the same publication path. Both preserve the original publication date, show an update date and retain a backup.
